WORDS & WORLDS LOOK AT US NOW
Words & Worlds is a community arts project focused on telling people’s stories through the written word. The focus of this anthology was Identity.
Writers within their own right
ABOUT THE PROJECT
After the success of the first project and the creation of an anthology, we continued to work with vulnerable communities on this story collection project.
We worked from July-October 2021 with over 40 participants on a new focus which led to the creation of a second volume titled Look At Us Now.
The celebration event for this project took place at Newcastle City Library.
This anthology is dedicated to Paul; A man who was told from a young age that he couldn’t write, then found his voice and a new passion in the last year of his life. He represents everything this project is about.
“It places people at the centre. This project is all about them. No egos, no ‘professional pats on the back’, just simple joy.”
